Description

A quick and satisfying breakfast dish featuring crispy toasted bread with a warm, runny egg in the center, customizable with various toppings.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread (whole wheat, white, sourdough, or your preference)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: shredded cheese, chopped chives, diced tomatoes, spinach, bacon bits

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
  2. 2. Make a hole (about 2 inches in diameter) in the center of each slice of bread using a small glass or cookie cutter.
  3. 3. Spread butter generously on both sides of the bread slices.
  4. 4. Crack an egg into each hole of the bread slices. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. 5. Place the egg toasts into the air fryer basket, laying flat and not overlapping.
  6. 6. Air fry for about 8-10 minutes, adjusting the time based on your preference for yolk consistency.
  7. 7. If using cheese, add it on top of the eggs during the last 1-2 minutes of cooking.
  8. 8. Remove the egg toasts using a spatula and let cool slightly before serving.
  9. 9. Garnish with optional toppings like chopped chives, diced tomatoes, spinach, or bacon bits.
