Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 400°F and spray your baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. 2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. 3. In a large bowl, whisk the melted butter with the granulated sugar. Stir in the egg, vanilla extract, and applesauce.
  4. 4. Gently fold the dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined. Fold in the diced Honeycrisp apples.
  5. 5. Using about 1 tablespoon of batter per fritter bite, create mounds on your prepared baking sheet, spacing them a few inches apart.
  6. 6. Bake for 10 minutes until golden brown.
  7. 7. While baking, whisk together the powdered sugar and apple cider or apple juice until smooth for the glaze.
  8. 8. After baking, switch your oven to broil on high. Brush glaze over each warm fritter bite and return to the oven for 2 to 4 minutes.
  9. 9. Remove from oven and brush remaining glaze evenly over the top. Let sit for about 15 minutes before serving.
