Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup caramel bits
  • 1 cup diced apple
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line cookie sheets with parchment paper.
  2. 2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.
  3. 3. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter with 1 1/2 cup of sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well.
  4. 4. Gently fold in caramel bits and diced apples.
  5. 5. Gradually add flour mixture, mixing until combined. Cover and chill for 30 minutes.
  6. 6. Combine 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
