Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup caramel bits
  • Sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. 2. In a large mixing bowl, beat together the unsalted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. 3. Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix until fully combined.
  4. 4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the butter-sugar mixture and mix until combined.
  5. 5. Gently fold in the caramel bits.
  6. 6. Scoop the dough into balls, place them on the prepared baking sheet, and slightly flatten each one. Sprinkle the tops lightly with sea salt.

  8. 8. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 3-5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
