Deliciously simple candied sweet potato and bacon skewers that combine sweet, salty, and smoky flavors.

Ingredients

  • 2 large sweet potatoes, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 8 slices of thick-cut bacon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Skewers, wooden or metal

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. 2. Peel and cut the sweet potatoes into 1-inch cubes.
  3. 3. In a bowl, combine brown sugar, maple syrup, cinnamon, salt, and pepper.
  4. 4. Toss the sweet potato cubes in the mixture until well coated.
  5. 5. On skewers, alternate threading sweet potato cubes and bacon pieces.
  6. 6. Place skewers on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, turning once midway through.
  7. 7. Serve hot as a delicious side or main dish.
