Description

A hearty and creamy pasta dish that combines flavorful sausage with rigatoni, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 15 oz Italian sausage (crumbled)
  • 8 oz rigatoni (uncooked)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning or Herbs de Provence
  • 15 oz tomato sauce
  • 5 oz fresh spinach
  • Salt and coarsely ground black pepper to taste
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. 1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the crumbled Italian sausage and cook until browned.
  2. 2. To the same skillet, add the uncooked rigatoni, chicken broth, heavy cream, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and tomato sauce. Mix well.
  3. 3. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil. Cover the skillet and let the rigatoni cook for 10 to 15 minutes.
  4. 4. Add the fresh spinach to the skillet and stir until wilted.
  5. 5. If preferred, cook uncovered for a couple of additional minutes to thicken the sauce.
  6. 6. Season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes before serving.
