Description

These Crispy Broccoli Cheese Nuggets are a delightful snack packed with cheesy goodness and nutritious greens, perfect for kids and adults alike.

Ingredients

  • 250 g broccoli (fresh or frozen)
  • 150 g grated cheese (e.g. Gouda or Cheddar)
  • 1 egg
  • 50 g breadcrumbs
  • 30 g flour
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
  • Salt, pepper, nutmeg to taste
  • 50 g breadcrumbs for coating
  • 2 tablespoons oil for brushing or frying

Instructions

  1. 1. Break the broccoli into florets and cook in lightly salted water or steam for about 5 minutes. Let it cool and then finely chop it.
  2. 2. In a bowl, mix the broccoli with cheese, egg, breadcrumbs, flour, onion, garlic, and spices until well combined.
  3. 3. Form small nuggets from the mixture and roll them in breadcrumbs.
  4. 4. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and brush with oil. Bake at 200°C (392°F) for about 20 minutes until golden brown, flipping halfway through. Alternatively, fry in a pan with a little oil until both sides are golden.
  5. 5. Let the nuggets cool slightly before serving.
