Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Press the tofu to remove excess moisture, then cut it into 1/2-inch cubes. Pat the tofu cubes dry with paper towels.
3. In a bowl, toss the tofu cubes with olive oil, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
4. Spread the seasoned tofu cubes in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes, then flip the pieces and bake for another 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
5. In a small saucepan, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
6. To the saucepan, add the honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and chili flakes (if using). Bring the mixture to a boil.
7. Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for 30-60 seconds, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat and stir in the sesame seeds.
8. Remove the crispy tofu from the oven and transfer it to a bowl. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the tofu and gently toss to coat evenly.
9. Serve immediately, garnished with sliced green onions and extra sesame seeds.
