Ingredients

  • 10 cups cubed bread (sourdough or French)
  • 1 large onion, finely diced
  • 2 cups finely chopped celery (about 3-4 stalks)
  • 2 tbsp fresh sage, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh thyme, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • 4 cups low-sodium broth (chicken or vegetable)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (1 stick), melted
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. 2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. 3. Add the diced onion and chopped celery to the skillet. Sauté until the onion becomes transparent and the celery is tender, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. 4. Stir in the fresh herbs and cook for another 2 minutes, allowing their flavors to blend.
  5. 5. In a large bowl, combine the cubed bread and sautéed vegetables. Mix well.
  6. 6. Pour the broth over the mixture and gently toss it together.
