Description

A delicious and satisfying sandwich loaded with sizzling steak, sweet caramelized veggies, and melty provolone cheese, perfect for quick weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound shaved steak
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. 1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions, green bell peppers, and mushrooms. Sauté until soft and slightly caramelized, about 5 to 7 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  2. 2. In the same skillet, add the shaved steak and season with salt and black pepper. Cook, stirring frequently, until browned and cooked through, about 5 minutes.
  3. 3. Layer a generous portion of cooked steak in hoagie rolls, followed by sautéed vegetables and top with two slices of provolone cheese. Close the rolls gently.
  4. 4. Place assembled sandwiches on a baking sheet and broil in the oven for 2 to 3 minutes, watching closely to avoid burning. Pull them out once the cheese is bubbly and the edges of the roll are toasted.
