Easy Air Fryer Recipe for Homemade General Tso’s Chicken

Description
A healthier, crispy version of the classic General Tso’s Chicken made in an air fryer, perfect for weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
1 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
1/2 cup cornstarch
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup hoisin sauce
3 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
1 tablespoon grated ginger
2 cloves minced garlic
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
1/4 teaspoon sesame oil
Green onions, for garnish

Instructions
1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
2. In a mixing bowl, coat chicken pieces with cornstarch.
3. Place the coated chicken in the air fryer basket and cook for 8 minutes, flipping halfway through.
4. In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, rice vinegar, ginger, garlic, red pepper flakes, and sesame oil; cook for 5 minutes over medium heat until sauce thickens.
5. Transfer the cooked chicken to a bowl and pour the sauce over it; toss to coat.
6. Return the coated chicken to the air fryer and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
7. Garnish with sliced green onions and serve over steamed rice.
