Ingredients

  • 1 lb bacon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons bourbon
  • 1/2 teaspoon cracked black pepper
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 3/4 cup warm whole milk
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon bourbon

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. 2. Lay the bacon strips in a single layer on the sheet.
  3. 3. Mix together the brown sugar, maple syrup, bourbon, and black pepper in a small bowl.
  4. 4. Brush the mix generously over the bacon.
  5. 5. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until the bacon crisps and the glaze bubbles.
  6. 6. Let the bacon cool and then chop it into small pieces.
  7. 7. In a stand mixer bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, instant yeast, and salt.
