Description

Deliciously soft and fluffy garlic bread rolls, perfect as a side dish or a snack.

Ingredients

  • 4 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 3 1/2 cups + 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1 cup whole or 2% milk (warmed to 110°F)
  • 1 large egg (room temperature)
  • 1 beaten egg, for brushing the tops
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • Flaky sea salt (for finishing)

Instructions

  1. 1. Lightly butter the bottom and sides of a 9×13 pan and set it aside.
  2. 2. In a small pot, melt the butter and add the minced garlic. Cook for 1-2 minutes, then take off the heat and cool.
  3. 3. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, parsley, sugar, yeast, and salt. Add warmed milk, egg, and garlic butter. Knead on low speed until smooth and tacky, about 10-12 minutes.
  4. 4. Cut the kneaded dough into 12 equal portions, shape them into balls and place in the prepared pan. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 1-2 hours.
  5. 5. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
  6. 6. Brush rolls with egg wash, then bake for 20-30 minutes until golden brown.
  7. 7. While baking, prepare garlic butter by melting butter with minced garlic. Once rolls are baked, brush with garlic butter and sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
