Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. 2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
  3. 3. In a separate bowl, cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. 4. Beat in the egg, molasses, and vanilla extract.
  5. 5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until well combined.
