Quick and delicious toasts topped with savory sautéed mushrooms, garlic, and melted cheeses, perfect for impressing guests or treating yourself.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 8 ounces cremini or button mushrooms, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 4 slices crusty bread
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Chopped fresh parsley, optional for garnish

Instructions

  1. 1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Melt the butter and olive oil together, then add minced garlic. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  2. 2. Add sliced mushrooms, salt, pepper, and dried thyme. Cook for 5-7 minutes until mushrooms are tender and golden brown. Remove from heat.
  3. 3. Preheat oven to broil on high. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. 4. Place slices of bread on the baking sheet. Evenly distribute the sautéed mushroom mixture over each slice. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses generously on top.
  5. 5. Broil toasts for 3-5 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly. Watch closely to avoid burning.
  6. 6. Remove from oven and sprinkle with fresh parsley, if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!
