Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup Halloween sprinkles

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. 2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar until smooth.
  3. 3. Add in the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.
  4. 4. Stir in the salt and baking soda, then add the all-purpose flour and mix until just combined.
  5. 5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips and Halloween sprinkles, reserving some for topping.
  6. 6. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Press extra chips and sprinkles onto each cookie.
  7. 7. Bake for 8–10 minutes until edges are set but the centers are still soft. Start checking at 8 minutes.
  8. 8. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
