Ingredients

  • 4 medium sweet potatoes
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows (optional)
  • 1/2 cup pecans or walnuts, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. 2. Peel and cube the sweet potatoes, then boil them in a pot of water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  3. 3. Drain the sweet potatoes and transfer them to a mixing bowl.
  4. 4. Mash the sweet potatoes until smooth, then stir in brown sugar, milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined.
  5. 5. Pour the sweet potato mixture into a greased baking dish.
  6. 6. If using, sprinkle mini marshmallows and chopped nuts evenly on top.
