Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. 1. In a small saucepan, heat the milk and butter until warm (not hot). Remove from heat, sprinkle the yeast over the mixture, and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. 2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. 3. Add the yeast mixture, egg, honey, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. 4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5–7 minutes until smooth.
  5. 5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  6. 6. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. 7. Roll out the dough and cut it into desired shapes. Place on a greased baking sheet.
  8. 8. Let rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. 9. Bake for 15–20 minutes or until golden brown.
