Description

A delightful dish combining sweet and crunchy flavors with tender shrimp, inspired by Chinese cuisine.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 2 egg whites
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 cup walnuts
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. 1. In a pan, combine sugar and water, add walnuts, and cook until caramelized. Set aside to cool.
  2. 2. In a bowl, coat shrimp in cornstarch. Then, dip shrimp in egg whites.
  3. 3. Heat oil in a large pan and fry shrimp until golden brown and crispy.
  4. 4. In another bowl, mix sweetened condensed milk, mayonnaise, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt to create the sauce.
  5. 5. Combine the fried shrimp with the sauce, and then gently stir in the candied walnuts.
  6. 6. Serve immediately over a bed of steamed rice and enjoy!
