Instructions

  1. 1. In a large bowl, mix the lukewarm water with sugar and dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until bubbles start forming on the surface.
  2. 2. Add the sifted flour and salt to the yeast mixture, then stir in the 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil.
  3. 3. On a floured surface, knead the dough vigorously until it becomes smooth and elastic, usually about 10 minutes.
  4. 4. Place the dough into a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and allow it to rise in a warm area for approximately 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
  5. 5. Once it has risen, transfer the dough back to the floured surface and divide it into equal portions, usually around 8 pieces.
  6. 6. Shape each piece into a round flatbread about one centimeter thick.
  7. 7. Preheat the air fryer to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit).
  8. 8. Place the langos in the air fryer in batches—ensure they are not overcrowded.
  9. 9. Fry each piece for about 10 to 12 minutes until they are golden brown and crispy.
  10. 10. Remove the freshly air-fried langos and, while they are still hot, sprinkle with fresh herbs or a splash of lemon juice to elevate the flavors.
