Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 cup yellow cornmeal
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 large egg
1 cup buttermilk
Vegetable oil, for frying
8 wooden skewers or popsicle sticks

Instructions
1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until browned. Drain excess fat.
2. Combine cooked beef, crumbled bacon, and shredded cheddar in a bowl and mix well.
3. Divide filling into 8 portions, shape into logs, and insert wooden skewers. Freeze for 20-30 minutes.
4. Whisk together cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in one bowl. In another bowl, whisk egg and buttermilk. Combine wet and dry ingredients until smooth.
5. Heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Pat logs dry, dip in batter, and fry for 3-4 minutes until golden brown. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
