Instructions
1. Season the chicken with salt and pepper. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken until browned and cooked through, about 5–7 minutes. Remove the chicken and set it aside.
2. In the same skillet, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds. Sprinkle in the flour and whisk constantly for 1–2 minutes until combined.
3. Slowly pour in the chicken broth, followed by the heavy cream, whisking to prevent lumps. Stir the mixture until it thickens. Add the parmesan cheese and mix until it melts into the sauce.
4. Stir in the sun-dried tomatoes, smoked paprika, and Italian seasoning. Let the sauce simmer for a few minutes to blend all the flavors.
5. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and let it simmer in the sauce. Meanwhile, cook the penne pasta until al dente. Drain the pasta and toss it into the sauce mixture until fully coated.
6. Top the dish with fresh chopped basil and serve immediately while hot and creamy.
