Instructions

  1. 1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Add the diced onion and sauté until soft, about 4-5 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute. Pour in the marinara sauce, crumbled bacon, Italian seasoning, and smoked paprika. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Simmer the meat sauce for 10 minutes.
  2. 2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the all-purpose flour and cook for 1-2 minutes. Slowly whisk in the milk and continue cooking until the sauce has thickened, about 5 minutes. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and garlic powder. Season with salt and pepper to your liking. Remove from heat.
  3. 3. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a 9×13 inch baking dish, spread a layer of the meat sauce. Top with lasagna noodles, followed by a layer of béchamel, mozzarella, and cheddar cheeses. Repeat these layers, finishing with cheese on top. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan over the top.
  4. 4. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the top is golden brown and bubbly. Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
