Description

A warm, crunchy shell filled with cheesy, ranch-seasoned potato and crispy bacon, perfect for game day or casual dinners.

Ingredients

  • 2 large russet potatoes
  • 1 cup cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup ranch dressing
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying (vegetable, canola, or peanut oil)

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350–375°F (175–190°C).
  2. 2. Wash and bake russet potatoes until soft, then scoop out the insides into a bowl.
  3. 3. Mash potato flesh and mix in bacon, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, ranch dressing, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  4. 4. Shape mixture into small keg-shaped balls.
  5. 5. Drop kegs into hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3–5 minutes per batch.
  6. 6. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels; season lightly with salt if desired.
  7. 7. Serve warm and enjoy!
