  • 3 large eggs (for cake batter)
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs (for cheesecake layer)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • Red food coloring (optional)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. 2. In a large bowl, mix the red velvet cake mix, 3 eggs, vegetable oil, and water until just combined.

  4. 4. In another bowl, beat together the cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, 2 eggs, and sour cream until smooth.
