Salted Caramel Apple Pie Cheesecake

Description

A delightful dessert combining apple pie and cheesecake flavors, topped with a rich salted caramel sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 24 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 3 cups peeled and sliced apples
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (for caramel)
  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter (for caramel)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (for caramel)
  • 1 tsp sea salt (for caramel)

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. 2. Mix graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter until combined.
  3. 3. Press this mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan.
  4. 4. Bake the crust for 10 minutes, then take it out of the oven and let it cool.
  5. 5. In a bowl, combine sliced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and flour. Toss to coat the apples.
  6. 6. Spread the apple mixture evenly over the cooled crust.
  7. 7. In another bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar together until smooth.
  8. 8. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  9. 9. Mix in vanilla extract and sour cream until fully combined.
  10. 10. Pour cheesecake mixture over the apple layer.
  11. 11. Bake for about 60-70 minutes, or until the center is almost set.
  12. 12. Once done, let cool completely, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
  13. 13. To make the salted caramel sauce, heat sugar in a saucepan until it melts and turns amber.
  14. 14. Add butter and stir until melted, then slowly pour in heavy cream while stirring.
  15. 15. Remove from heat and stir in sea salt.
  16. 16. Drizzle salted caramel sauce over the chilled cheesecake just before serving.
