Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 325-350℉ (162-175℃).
  2. 2. In a large bowl, combine all the cake ingredients and mix well.
  3. 3. Pour the batter into a greased or lined baking pan. Bake according to the cake box instructions.
  4. 4. Check if the cake is done using a toothpick 2-4 minutes before the end of baking.
  5. 5. Once baked, transfer the warm cake to a large mixing bowl and crumble it using a paddle attachment or by hand.
  6. 6. In a separate bowl, mix all the buttercream ingredients until smooth.
  7. 7. Add the buttercream to the crumbled cake and mix until well combined.
  8. 8. Roll the mixture into balls about 1¼ inches in diameter and chill the cake pops in the freezer for 15 minutes.
  9. 9. While cooling, melt a small amount of pink candy melts in the microwave.
  10. 10. Dip the tip of each lollipop stick in melted candy and insert it into the cake balls halfway.
  11. 11. Return them to the freezer for another 15 minutes.
  12. 12. Melt the remaining candy melts until they reach your desired consistency.
  13. 13. Dip each cake pop into the melted candy and gently tap the stick to remove excess.
  14. 14. Quickly decorate with sprinkles or nonpareils and stand them upright in a styrofoam block to dry.
